Types of Haircolor:
Semi-Permanent:
NO PEROXIDE/NO AMMONIA, typically a single bottle, lasts 5-10 shampoos. These are "deposit only" colors. You can't go lighter with these. Some people will pre-bleach before application. This basically turns the color into a double-process permanent color.
Demi-Permanent:
YES PEROXIDE/NO AMMONIA, typically two bottles (one color, one developer), lasts 20-25 shampoos. These are "deposit only" colors. You can't go lighter with these. These are very popular to cover grey without changing the natural pigment of the hair.
Permanent:
YES PEROXIDE/YES AMMONIA, typically two bottles (one color, one developer), lasts 20-25 shampoos. These are very popular to cover grey and to lighten the natural pigment of the hair.
